Would you believe that one of America's most outstanding and influential big bands of the so-called "Golden Era" of Jazz ,The Jimmie Lunceford Orchestra [a.k.a. 'The Harlem Express'] ….legendary 'house band' of Harlem, NYC's famed 'Cotton Club' [1934-1947] is now based in the Netherlands ?!!
Well, it's true! In fact the newly re-formed and re-constituted Jimmie Lunceford Legacy Orchestra, under direction of saxophonist and 'Aces of Syncopation' band leader Robert Veen is about to present their all-new show "A Night At The Cotton Club" at this year's 10th annual 'Jazz Op Tilt' 22 September in Giessenburg, NL as part of their re-introduction to jazz fans and big-band swing lovers world-wide.
On 20 September they will be presenting their brand new CD, "Rhythm Is Our Business" in the Dutch city of Breda.
